As a (Senior) System Administrator you will help our Ergosign employees to find their way around the Ergosign IT. This includes documentation, assistance in using applications and familiarization with the Mac world. In addition, you will support the System Administration Team in planning, scaling and rolling out new servers/infrastructure/systems. These are distributed across all locations and as well in a data center in Saarland.

In Ergosign IT we have ~200 server systems that are mainly operated under Linux and are essential for the smooth running of our processes. Consequently, scalability, load balancing and of course data security as well as backup/restore are in the foreground.

Your tasks are among others:

  • Cooperation in first and second level support of 200+ users over 7 locations.

  • Basic installation, configuration and maintenance of the work equipment.

  • Client: Testing new software/configurations/operating systems and their rollout.

  • Server: Testing of new software/configurations/operating systems and their rollout.

  • Documentation.

Your skills

  • Successfully completed degree or vocational training in computer science, or a comparable qualification.

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in system administration.

  • Knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls (Opnsense), load balancing (keepalived, HAProxy), deployment (Puppet, Ansible), Active Directory (Samba4), web servers (Apache2, nginx), databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL), monitoring, Proxmox, and data center operations.

  • Business-level proficiency in German is required.

  • A structured and goal-oriented approach to work.

  • Quick learner.

  • Willingness to travel to our locations.

  • Team player skills.

  • Strong service orientation.

  • Driver’s license (Class B).
